The Peebles site is one of 15 forecourts Karan runs in Scotland

Top 50 Indie Karan Retail continues to expand in Scotland, with its latest acquisition being an Esso-liveried forecourt in Peebles in the Scottish Borders.

The company has 59 sites in its portfolio and has been consistently building up its presence north of the border.

Back in April the Coventry-based firm acquired four Scottish forecourts in a multi-site deal, and has a total of 15 filling stations in the country. Its latest purchase is the David Harrison Cars & Petrol Filling Station in Peebles.

As well as expanding into Scotland Karan has also been growing its presence in the South West, acquiring sites in Devon and Somerset in late 2025, having entered that region in 2024.

The company, which turns over around £300m a year in fuel sales, has added a dozen sites to its portfolio in the last eight months.

A spokesperson for Karan said the Peebles acquisition “supports our continued growth in Scotland and strengthens our presence in the region”, adding that the firm intends to build on “its strong local reputation and continuing to provide excellent service to the local community”

Mark Lavery, a director at Christie & Co, which brokered Karan’s latest deal, said the site, which includes commercial and residential investments and was a retirement sale, “attracted strong interest from across the market, resulting in multiple competitive bids”, adding that Karan “is well positioned to build on the site’s existing success and unlock further potential”.
