Kenworth Ltd, a family-run forecourt operation, has opened its fourth Nisa-branded site.
Like Kenworth’s other sites, Chilton Service Station in County Durham is a new-build project developed by the company, and features a four-island, eight-pump forecourt and a 2,000sq ft Nisa store.
Joan Raw, director of Kenworth Ltd, said the company had been looking at the site for about 10 years before it decided to go ahead with the development.
She said it was on a busy road between Darlington and Durham which attracted lots of fuel trade, and Chilton was a small town with only one other convenience store and there had been a great response from local people.
The company was an early adopter of Nisa as a fuel brand with Greenergy-supplied fuel, moving its Wheatley Hill Service Station in County Durham to Nisa in November 2013, and with Beacon Service Station and its head office at Catterick following.
Joan said: "We were really a fuel retailer with just kiosks but we wanted to develop the shop side of the business, and Nisa has provided lots of support.
"Greenergy has been fantastic too, and has helped to make us more competitive."
