Prax Petroleum has bought an unmanned diesel filling station located close to the North Perimeter Road of Heathrow Airport and reopened it after a refurbishment and re-branding.

The site was initially set up with a view to supply diesel to the taxis at the airport feeder park but Prax has plans to extend this to include local businesses and possibly eventually bunker card customers.

The site is unmanned and open 24/7, and Prax is confident that the fuel will be the cheapest in the vicinity with the automated payment terminals accepting both cash and credit cards.

“Initial interest has been very encouraging with sales significantly outperforming our initial projections” said Hannah Bishop, Prax’s business development manager.

This is the second of Prax’s unmanned diesel bunker sites, the other being located at Purflett in Essex, and following on the success of these they plan to roll out to more locations throughout the UK.

Fuel is delivered exclusively by Turners tanker division from Prax’s Thames-based terminal at Dagenham.
