Surrey retailer S Satha has rebranded the store on his Jet forecourt in Chertsey as a Spar.
The move coincided with an extension to the 24-hour store adding 300sq ft and taking the sales floor up to 800sq ft. Satha traded from a Portakabin for five weeks while structural work was done on his shop.
The extra space has allowed Satha to extend his fresh and chilled offer and also his chilled wines and beers section. Two promotional bays have also been added to communicate Spar value.
The shop incorporates the latest Spar imagery, interior designs and colour formats. The work was done with the help of Spar regional wholesaler Capper & Co.
Wayne Evans, Capper’s business development advisor, said: "Not only was this a change of supplier for Satha, but it was also a complete upgrade in respect of the shop and so it was only by clear planning and communication that this was going to be a success."
Satha is very pleased with the results: "I believe I am going to see a big increase in sales because of the changes that have been made. I have been able to add lots of new products and I particularly like the new Spar chilled lines that I am sure will be very popular with my regular customers."
