Specialist media agency Ambient Media is running a reverse graffiti ad campaign for Texaco in Cardiff over the next two
months which aims to dramatically highlight the cleaning properties of its Techron additive.
According to the agency, it has created a 50 foot-long mural on a section of wall near Cardiff Central train station with pictures of the Severn Crossing, Cardiff Castle and a Welsh dragon.
After scrubbing the grimy wall and removing the existing graffiti, a team of painters (including Ambient executives Craig Ciurlionis and Jonathan Schultz) then painted it black and stuck on stencils which they recleaned through the holes with a high-powered water hose to make the pictures.
"Ambient Media managing director Craig Ciurlionis said: "This is a perfect way for Texaco to show consumers what its product does rather than just tell them about it."
