A planning application has been submitted to East Riding Council in Yorkshire to construct a new-to-sector forecourt complete with valeting, EV charging and a drive-thru coffee shop.
The proposals come from Top 50 Indie The Brookfield Group, which has expanded significantly of late, growing its portfolio from eight sites (plus 13 leased) in 2025, to 12 this year, plus a further 17 leased forecourts.
The firm, which was named ‘highest riser’ at Forecourt Trader’s Top 50 Indies Awards last month, has experience in winning complex planning bids for new-to-sector filling stations. It has obtained planning consent for sites in Skipton, North Yorkshire, and Gosforth, Tyne and Wear, despite authorities initially refusing permission.
Fresh from those successes, Brookfield is now looking to undertake a significant development in the town of Brough. Planning documents reveal the firm wants to construct a 5,000sq ft forecourt shop facing four pump islands, alongside three jet-wash bays, an automatic car wash, 10 EV charging stations and a 1,800sq ft drive-thru coffee shop.
The proposed site borders the A63 main road running between Hull and Goole, close to the River Ouse.
