Firm reports monthly sales of 10,000 units at £4.95 apiece

A new revenue stream for forecourt firms, particularly those with valeting operations, has been launched with the introduction of the world’s first car fragrance vending machine.

The machine comes from Carfume, which has signed a three-year nationwide deal with motorway services operator Moto following a successful trial.

The company has 23 machines at Moto sites and expects to install another 100 in 2026 across outlets including shopping centres and service stations. Other firms already hosting machines include Halfords, The Range, B&M and Asda.

Carfume says no other company is offering dedicated car-fragrance vending machines and reports that revenue is already strong, with around 10,000 air fresheners, priced at £4.95, being sold a month.

The air fresheners feature a geometric glass bottle topped with a wooden lid, while fragrances include ‘Dark Opium Surge’, ‘Lady Billion’ and ‘Winter Angel’.

Carfume’s owner, Sean Mallon, says that “no other global brand has launched a dedicated vending concept for luxury car fragrances”, adding:

“Carfume is continuously expanding, and our partnership with Moto is a huge step forward in our success. After seeing the demand for these products during the trial period, we knew it was time to expand our operations, and we hope to increase our presence even further next year.”
