Most forecourt infrastructure remains in place at the main road site

A forecourt in Plumley, Cheshire, that is currently trading as a used-car dealership could see its status as a filling station reinstated if the local authority grants a developer permission to go ahead with the project.

MTS Fuels had already begun work at the site, but in February Cheshire East Council told it to stop, declining to issue a certificate of lawful development, and informing the company that full planning permission would instead be required.

That permission has now been applied for, with planning documents indicating MTS wants to recommission the site as a petrol filling station, turning the 835sq ft sales building back into a forecourt shop and installing four new pump islands, while renovating the existing fuel tanks.

The forecourt sits on the A556 between Northwich and Altrincham, six miles south of J7 of the M56.
