Nestlé is adding a Rolo variant to its successful £1 blocks range. The 100g Rolo bar is filled with a caramel centre and uses the Rolo shape to create a moulded block that the company says is different to anything else on the market.

The new bar is available in price-marked (£1) and non-price-marked packs.

The launch capitalises on the growth of in-home consumption and sharing occasions. According to IRI data, independent retailers have done well with this trend and have seen strong growth in sales of chocolate blocks.

Sales of Nestlé’s £1 block range have grown by 62% according to IRI impulse MAT data to February 25.
