Esso dealers using Iridium point of sale can now access card transaction authorisation capture (CTAC) following a deal between the oil company and Arciris.
After five years of pursuing the oil major, the epos and back office supplier has been given access to the protocols to link Iridium with Esso’s low-end EFT terminal VeriFone OMNI 3740.
Until now, the 100-plus Esso dealers who use Iridium were forced to use a third-party company for their polling and acquiring.
The deal also means that Arciris will be able to provide Esso dealers with chip and pin-enabled epos.
Arciris is testing the link in conjunction with Esso and Verifone, and expects it to be available for implementation in April.
