Two BP petrol stations in Cumbria have reduced energy consumption by 22% by following advice from energy management company NCS.
NCS implemented energy-efficient heating controls, presence and lighting level controls, and replaced inefficient lighting systems with the latest design technology to reduce electricity and gas use. The energy use reduction will provide a return on investment in less than two and a half years and, in addition to increased efficiency at the petrol stations, there has also been a reduction in the ongoing cost of maintenance.
Chris Norburn, managing director of NCS, said: "The petrol stations were able to operate as usual during the implementation of new systems and the installation was carried out with the minimum of disruption."
