Sign installation specialist Xmo Strata has warned that signware deliveries from the Continent could be delayed by refugees trying to stow-away on trucks crossing the channel.
In its October newsletter the company says that some operators are using long diversions to avoid Calais, and that enhanced security measures are also causing delays.
It says the problem has not affected Xmo Strata yet but it is an issue the company is watching carefully.
To add to potential congestion it also reports that some social media commenators say that Apple has booked so much freight space from China that it could delay other deliveries, including signware.
