A new self-serve gourmet coffee machine is now available to independent retailers following a successful trial by motorway services operator Goldstar Extra.
Specialist company MyCoffee installs its branded coffee-bar quality machines on a free-loan basis, sharing the revenue with the retailer.
The units were installed at Goldstar Extra at the beginning of the year, and have since been rolled out to all sites in the network, where they have been supported by eye-catching signage and customer loyalty schemes. Jerry Storer, operations manager for Goldstar Extra, says: "Since we’ve teamed up with MyCoffee, our sales of coffee and hot snacks have rocketed."
Mark Heron, founder of MyCoffee, says the company is also looking to work with independent retailers with high-footfall sites in A-road locations.
The machine uses fresh coffee beans and milk. MyCoffee supplies the beans and branded cups and remotely monitors the performance of the unit through a modem to ensure quality.
