Gulf has signed a deal with pump and wet-stock management services company Fairbanks to ensure its retailers receive a full forecourt meter audit and can get any over-dispensing pumps reset at the same time.
According to Gulf, it is the first oil company to offer this complete service which it says could save a retailer thousands of pounds a year.
Keith Jewers, director, Gulf Retail, said: "It is an operational fact that most pump meters drift. With the legal tolerance set at 1%, a dealer with an annual throughput of 2mlpa could still be giving away more than 5,000 litres each year."
