An innovation that significantly enhances card payment security for shoppers and reduces compliance complexity for retailers has been unveiled by HTEC.
Named after the first Greek hero Perseus, the new encryption solution adds an additional level of security at the till for customers, with HTEC being one of the first suppliers to use point-to-point encryption.
The system guarantees that the data cannot be read from the moment the transaction is taken at the till until it reaches the secure decryption point making it more secure and trusted by shoppers.
The new software has been specifically developed for ease of use and has been endorsed by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council. The high standard of security which this innovation delivers will ensure that retailers are better able to comply with the council’s standards relating to fraud prevention and management.
Perseus operates on almost any Epos platform as well as complementing HTEC’s own suite of retail solutions.
Jeremy Lewis, CEO of HTEC parent Universe Group, states: “Perseus marks a first in the sector and enables us to offer any customers dealing with card payment transactions significantly enhanced data security as well as cost savings as they discharge their compliance obligations.”
