A new interactive CD-based training course has been introduced by The Society of Food Hygiene Technology. The e-training course, Hygiene Awareness – Principles and Practice, is designed to enable food businesses to comply with legal obligations in providing relevant food safety and hygiene training for food handlers as required by the Food Safety Act.
The CD is aimed at all businesses involved in the food chain including caterers and retailers. It contains four training modules: Personal Hygiene, Food Safety, Principles of Cleaning and Waste Disposal, and Pest Control.
Trainees simply load the CD onto a PC and work their way through the interactive training programme. At the end of each section there is a short test.
Neil Griffiths, chairman of the Society of Food Hygiene Technology said: “The package provides a vital introduction to food hygiene, and for many will be all the training required. It is particularly useful for businesses that have limited time and budget for training.”
