A Londis at Etwell in Derbyshire has become one of the first convenience stores in the country to install electronic shelf edge labels (ESELs).
After working in partnership with the distributor of the labels, Herberts, and Micros who provide his Prism back office system, Dee Sedani is now able to adjust prices on his shelves at the flick of a switch knowing that the prices on the shelves and at the tills will be automatically synchronised.
He said: "You can change prices whenever you want. For example when the weather is hot, you can raise the price of cold drinks; or you can create happy hours where prices are temporarily lowered, so Tuesday and Wednesday nights are happy hour on all wines excluding promotions."
