New research by sign contractor XMO Strata has revealed the real source of forecourt hazards, previously thought to be caused by members of the public by things like erratic driving.
Using XmoMan asset management software to analyse 674 health and safety related incidents, the company found that 53% of incidents relate to contractors working on site, while a further 28% relate to issues that could have been identified or mitigated by site staff, indicating a need for training. Only 13% related to issues caused by the public, with only 6% related to driving. Electrical installation of maintenance caused 29% of health and safety issues.
