Believ is installing chargers in Aberdeen

EV chargepoint operator Believ is installing an ultra-rapid charging hub in Blackburn, Aberdeen.

The hub is strategically situated next to a coffee shop (thought to be a Starbucks) on the A96 – Northern Scotland’s major road connecting Aberdeen to Inverness.

Believ will fully fund the installation, operation and maintenance of the hub’s four 240kW dual-socket EV charging points, enabling eight drivers to charge their vehicles at one time. Depending on the EV model, the chargers will enable most drivers to reach 0-80% in under 20 minutes.

The Scottish Motor Trade Association (SMTA) has reported that BEV sales surged by 57% year-to-date compared to 2024, and that BEVs now account for 13.5% of all new car sales in Scotland.

Guy Bartlett, Believ CEO, says this new high-speed charging hub is designed to serve Scotland’s growing number of EV drivers with charging infrastructure where it’s needed most:

“It is fantastic to see Scotland embracing EVs and we are delighted to be supporting the local community and regular users of this major route with convenient, reliable and accessible charging infrastructure,” he says.

“The hub is helping to ensure the transition away from petrol and diesel cars is as easy as possible, in support of our mission to ensure access to sustainable transport and deliver cleaner air for all.”
