Motorway service area (MSA) developer and operator Extra MSA Group has completed a multimillion-pound investment into improving Baldock Motorway Service Area, located at junction 10 of the A1(M).
The work included installation high-powered electric vehicle charging points provided by Ionity, updated onsite amenities including washroom facilities, and a new children’s play area.
In addition, the MSA has recently welcomed Deep Blue, a traditional fish and chips restaurant with an eat-in cooked breakfast offering, to its food court. Other food, drink, retail and hospitality brands already located at the destination include: McDonald’s; Starbucks; KFC; Greggs; M&S; Chopstix; El Mexicana; West Cornwall Pasty; and Days Inn.
Andrew Long, CEO of Extra MSA Group, said: “We’re committed to going the extra mile and providing an exceptional experience for visitors, and that’s why we’ve been investing in a number of Motorway Service Areas across our estate.
“As well as attracting people travelling on key routes across the country, Baldock Motorway Service Area regularly brings in local visitors from the surrounding areas to make the most of its food and drink offering and the stunning countryside setting. Our fantastic new play area is a great addition for local families heading for a day out or those looking to entertain children on long journeys, and Deep Blue fish and chips will provide another great option for those looking to dine-in or take-out from the motorway service area.
“Helping to deliver on government targets, high-powered electric vehicle charging facilities have been installed, which will help to give drivers the confidence that they can recharge and get back on the road again quickly.”
