Falklands War hero Simon Weston will share his story of resilience as the speaker at Forecourt Trader’s Top Indies evening this month.
Weston, who sustained life-changing burns during the 1982 conflict, will give a message of hope in the face of adversity, at the annual gathering of the UK’s largest petrol station operators.
Despite his injuries and suffering from PTSD after his troop carrier was bombed by Argentine planes Weston, who served with the Welsh Guards, has rebuilt his life.
He is now married with two children and has been recognised for his charity work, including founding his own national youth support organisation.
He was awarded an OBE in the 1992 Queen’s Birthday Honours, and a CBE in the New Year Honours in 2016.
Spaces are fast-filling for the Top Indies event, which will take place at The Belfry in Coventry, on Tuesday, February 24.
This annual event, taking place on the evening of Forecourt Trader’s Summit conference at the same location, is a chance to network with the industry’s largest forecourt network operators.
There will also be an awards ceremony to celebrate key players making a mark in the top 50 ranking. And it is the night that the bible of the industry, the Top 50 Indies report, is unveiled, revealing the movers and shakers over the past year.
If you are a Top 50 Indie and have not received your complimentary invite, please contact senior event manager Helen Law at Helen.Law@wrbm.com
Forecourt Trader would like to thank this year’s Top 50 Indies sponsors who have made the evening possible:
