A man from Burnley has been given a three-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) for shoplifting, including stealing from three forecourts.

The CBO was issued to Robert Simpson, from Burnley, at Preston Magistrates Court on October 8, and included the following conditions:

Simpson is prohibited from entering:

  • Kay Group’s Kitchens Service Station in Burnley, including the store, forecourt and car park.
  • EG On The Move’s Barracks Service Station in Burnley, including the store, forecourt and car park.
  • Kay Group’s Rossendale Road Service Station in Burnley, including the store, forecourt and car park.
  • Farmfoods, Accrington Road, Burnley including the car park.
  • DKG’s Cornershop, Florence Street, Burnley.

Simpson was apprehended as part of Operation Vulture, which is Lancashire Constabulary’s response to shoplifting across the county, backed by Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.

The operation sees dedicated officers patrolling hot spots, increasing their visibility in targeted areas and creating strong partnerships with retailers across the county to better share intelligence, get a deeper understanding of retail crime and identify more offenders.
