Detectives from Leicestershire Police are appealing for witnesses after a cash machine at the Moto services on the A453 in Castle Donington was broken into.
It is believed a Ford Transit van was used to pull the front of the cash machine away from the wall. Access was gained to the cash boxes and the suspects made off in a separate vehicle.
The break in took place at 12.48am on Monday 15 November, and the van was left at the scene.
The scene was cordoned off to allow for a full examination but that has since been lifted.
Enquiries are being carried out to identify any potential witnesses and officers would like to speak to anyone who may have been at these services around the time to get in touch.
If anyone was parked in the area and has video recording equipment installed in their vehicles they are asked to check the footage and contact police if they captured anything that may assist.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 1555 Emma Clark on 101, quoting crime number 21*665056.
