Abdul Khalique Bhatti: remembered for his “gentlemanly style”

Abdul Khalique Bhatti, a former director of Bestway for over 40 years, has died.

Bhatti is described by the company as a childhood friend of its founder and chairman emeritus Sir Anwar Pervez.

He started his career in the late 1970s at the food and drink wholesaler’s Acton warehouse, and later became general manager of the Southall site before moving to the head office in Park Royal, London. He was also a trustee of the Bestway Foundation in the UK and Pakistan.

Bhatti retired in 2016 to spend more time with his family in Pakistan. He passed away peacefully after a long illness and was buried in his ancestral home in Pakistan over the weekend.

In a statement the business says that Bhatti, one of the earliest members of the “Bestway family”, will be remembered for his gentlemanly style and sense of humour. He will be deeply missed by everyone in the Bestway family, said the announcement.
