Two more forecourts have been signed up for the dual-branded Jet/Spar package. Jet has signed long-term supply contracts with two sites owned by Blakemore Retail, which runs 295 Spar stores across England and Wales, and owns 15 forecourts.
The two sites which have joined the Jet network are Blakemore Buckley in Flintshire and Blakemore Newark in Nottinghamshire. The sites have a combined fuel volume in excess of 5mlpa. Buckley will be supplied from the Phillips 66 distribution terminal in Bramhall, Manchester, while Newark’s supply will come from the Immingham terminal, where Phillips 66 has its refinery.
Blakemore Retail has opted to dual-brand the sites, taking advantage of the collaboration between Jet and Spar UK, which was introduced last year as part of Jet’s wider retail support programme.
Both forecourts already had Spar-branded convenience stores. Buckley was previously supplied by BP and Newark by Gulf. The sites have already been fully re-imaged with the Spar and Jet branding throughout the forecourt.
David Garside, area manager at Blakemore Retail, commented: "We see this as a great opportunity to test the water with a convenience brand we’re already familiar with and a new fuel supplier.
"We want to determine the value of the Spar brand on the forecourt on sites that are heavily convenience led, but also have the backing of a trusted fuel brand."
