Oil major BP has merged its UK dealer and fleet fuel-sales operations and has made Natalie Cattermole head of fuel sales UK, a move said to recognise the “growing interdependence between dealer networks and fleet demand”.
The “integrated leadership role” will see Cattermole move from the senior dealer manager role she previously held, taking responsibility for fuel sales into the 860-plus dealer forecourts BP supplies, as well as fleet customers, “whether running internal combustion engine (ICE), mixed or increasingly electrified fleets”.
BP’s decision to combine the two roles is partly linked to the fact that “fleet requirements increasingly shape network strategy and investment”, itself likely a reflection of the fact that a significant proportion of the 1.85m electric cars in the UK have been bought by fleets and businesses.
Commenting on the move, Cattermole says that by merging dealer and fleet sales, BP will be “better placed to build a network that works for today’s market, supports our partners’ growth, and continues to meet customers wherever they are on their transition journey, whether running internal combustion engine (ICE), mixed or increasingly electrified fleets”.
She adds: “Our focus is on being a trusted, long‑term partner, for dealers investing in their sites and communities, and for fleet customers balancing operational needs with future change. Bringing these teams together helps us do that better.”
