A thief who stole goods worth £155 from a petrol station in Fleet, Hants, has been given a seven-day custodial sentence.
Lloyd Connell, 28, stole the goods on 6 December last year, taking sandwiches, biscuits, champagne and a shopping basket from the Shell site on Cove Road, reports the Basingstoke Gazette.
Connell was sentenced by Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court to a week behind bars, the judge noting that he was already in custody having been recalled to prison.
He was also ordered to pay £75 compensation to Shell and was given a two-year criminal-behaviour order, banning him from a Tesco and a BP forecourt, both in Farnborough.
A number of other conditions were imposed on Connell, including a requirement to immediately leave any retail business upon being asked, and to do so without using abusive or aggressive language or behaviour; he must also use shopping baskets or trolleys provided when buying store goods.
