Essar Oil (UK) has confirmed the opening of its fourth retail site, at Sale in Cheshire, since it entered the UK fuel supply sector.
The station, which has been operated by the Akhtar family for the past five years, is located in a residential locality and Essar said it has good potential for growth.
Essar entered the sector in November 2015 with its first branded site at Coalville, Leicestershire, which is owned by Top 50 Indie HKS.
Subsequently it unveiled stations at Walkden, Manchester, and Middleton, Lancashire. Essar said it planned to add more stations to its UK network in the coming months.
SB Prasad, chief commercial officer, retail at Essar Oil UK, commented: “We have had lots of interest from dealers who like the Essar brand and the fresh, straightforward approach we have brought to the UK market. Our team is always available to discuss options and we remain keen to grow our retail network.”
Essar Oil (UK) is a subsidiary of Essar Energy, which owns and operates the Stanlow Refinery located on the south side of the Mersey Estuary near Liverpool. Stanlow produces 16% of UK road transport fuels, including three billion litres of petrol, 4.4 billion litres of diesel and two billion litres of jet fuel per year.
