GB Oils, the UK’s largest independent fuels and lubricant distributor, is to be called Certas Energy UK Ltd.
Certas Energy currently delivers over six billion litres of fuel nationwide and serves around 1,000 independent petrol retailers with a workforce of 2,500 people.
“This represents a significant landmark in the development of our business,” said Ramsay MacDonald, retail director, Certas Energy. “In the past 10 years we have grown rapidly and with a number of brands currently within our portfolio, there was a need for change to meet ambitious growth plans and reflect the new shape of the business.
“For customers and staff, we now have a clear identity supported by a set of values that everyone can understand and connect with. There will be greater clarity as to who we are and what we stand for. Certas Energy is a major player in the UK energy sector with long-term ambitions and the highest standards in health and safety and corporate responsibility.”
Petrol retailers who choose Certas Energy will be offered a common range of brand elements to support their businesses including latest technology solutions to process all major fuel and credit cards, entry into the annual SuperStation Awards competition, PRA membership and the widest possible choice of lubricants.
MacDonald said the Gulf and Pace networks will continue to grow through organic growth and acquisition with dealers benefiting from the company’s critical mass.
