Murco has signed a three-and-a-half-year shop supply contract with Costcutter, worth more than £100m a
year. Murco’s general manager non-fuel, Tony Walker, commented: "The performance of our shops and their importance to the income of our business has grown rapidly over the past few years. It is therefore vitally important that our key shop supplier is someone who understands our shop philosophy, is a recognised consumer brand, offers an exceptional range of products, has an infrastructure to supply our nationwide network and is a true partner in developing our shop offer."
Walker added that Murco had worked with Costcutter for 12 years already and was key in building its shop numbers from eight to 212. "Throughout 2009 both companies will work in close partnership to further enhance our shops. Fifty-five store refurbishments are already planned," he said.
