A new-to-sector forecourt with a 4,200sq ft Morrisons Daily shop has been opened by an independent operator in Castleford, West Yorkshire.
The store is the first Morrisons Daily franchise site to have been taken on by Avon Retail, which gained planning permission for the forecourt in January 2024.
The BP forecourt is located on the southern edge of Castleford close to an area that has seen significant recent residential development, with 600 homes under construction. It offers EV charging and is located close to J31 of the M62 motorway, making it a likely pit-stop for drivers looking to top up their batteries en route.
Avon’s Retail’s director, Yakub Valli, says he “can’t wait for people to engage with the store’s wide range of products and services”.
Morrisons has around 1,700 Daily convenience stores, with roughly 700 of these being franchise-run.
The company’s head of wholesale strategic partnerships and acquisitions, Victoria Lockie, says the new store “couldn’t come at a better time as the area continues to grow and welcome new residents and businesses”.
