Two new flavours have been added to the Diet Coke range. New Diet Coke Exotic Mango and Feisty Cherry are the result of extensive consumer testing which saw 30 new flavours tested on more than 10,000 people. There is also a new Peach flavour for Coca-Cola Zero Sugar.

Coca-Cola European Partners says Exotic Mango and Peach will appeal to consumers who are after "bold, fruity variants" while Feisty Cherry will appeal to consumers who are looking for something a little different thanks to its chilli kick.

This latest innovation taps into the growing popularity of light colas which, according to Nielsen data, are now worth £915m in Great Britain. Meanwhile, Kantar Worldpanel data reveals that 4.7 million households here buy flavoured colas and the category brings 340,000 incremental shoppers to the wider cola sector every year.

The new variants will be available in 500ml and 1.25ltr PETs, 330ml cans and eight x 330ml can multipacks.

A £10m marketing campaign will support the launch including sampling, pos, out-of-home advertising, digital and social media.

At the same time, Diet Coke has been given a brand refresh with cans and bottles featuring a larger logo.

Meanwhile, Sprite has received a brand refresh too plus a new flavour: Lemon Lime & Cucumber No Sugar.

Made from 100% natural flavours and available in 330ml cans, 500ml and 2ltr PET bottles, the new Cucumber variant is soft drinks tax exempt.
