AG Barr is building on the success of its Rockstar brand with the launch of pure zero, which comes in a fruit punch flavour, in a 500ml big-can format. The company says it delivers the ’full Rockstar energy hit’ with zero sugar. It is available in non-price-marked and 99p price-marked cans.
"The energy category is growing at 7%, which is ahead of the soft drinks market," said Adrian Troy, head of marketing for AG Barr. "Within this, big-can formats are driving this growth up 15% year-on-year, but it is flavoured energy which is really driving the increase, up 43% year-on-year. Rockstar is leading this growth and seven out of the top 10 fastest-selling big-can SKUs are Rockstar flavours (all Nielsen data)."
