As part of Sprite’s ongoing global ‘Heat Happens’ campaign that encourages people to ‘stay cool’ when things get heated, the brand has been highlighting how it is the perfect sidekick for any spice kick.
With one in every three meals consumed in GB containing spice and the hot and spicy snacks category growing by 9% year-on-year (Kantar data), Sprite’s Lemon and Lime refreshment can help shoppers ‘stay cool’ during spicy food consumption occasions.
To help retailers take advantage of this cross-category opportunity, Sprite has partnered with popular mealtime occasions and brands including Pringles Hot! to create eye-catching, cross-category pos to help drive linked meals and snacking purchases in-store.
Convenience retailers can request Pringles Hot! and Sprite pos materials and download digital assets via My.CCEP.com to help bring the campaign to life in-store and to drive sales.
Kate Abbotson, convenience environment lead at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners GB, manufacturer and supplier of Sprite commented: “Recent research has shown that activating occasion-led messaging at point of purchase where food and drink are merchandised together can double shopper engagement and increase sales by up to 32%(Connecta), so we’d encourage convenience retailers to get activating in-store and appeal to shoppers who want spicy food and a refreshing soft drink.”
Sprite was relaunched last year with new formulations and a new-look visual identity.
