NJB Services’ Askern Service Station at Doncaster in South Yorkshire was a multiple award winner on the night with the prizes for Best Car Care and Lubricants Outlet and Best Soft Drinks Outlet as well as Best Tobacco Outlet.
The judges said the gantry was well stocked, with clear communication of price and appropriate age restriction signage clearly displayed. The staff also correctly answered judges questions demonstrating a good knowledge of the tobacco category.
David Dixon, area manager with NJB Services, said: "A year earlier we got a new, larger gantry unit from JTI and we implemented their planogram. The staff maintained it well, keeping it clean and fully merchandised.
"Even though it had a bigger range the staff kept their product knowledge up to date using all the information about new lines supplied by the tobacco companies."
