HKS was able to demonstrate that the implementation of retail technology at its Whitwick site in Leicestershire had helped increase gross shop margin so the payback on investment in the system would be achieved within two years.
HKS Whitwick was using the Micros SQL Prism 2 system and said the benefits it was experiencing were key to the success of the store.
It said the stock analysis features ensured the shop was never out of stock on key products and this helped to maintain merchandising disciplines and generated repeat visits from customers seeking key essentials.
The system’s promotion manager also has the ability to set up promotions within a specified date and time, enabling the site to tailor promotions to specific times of day. For instance, a special promotional price for coffee and muffins between 7am and 11am, then switching to a different lunchtime promotion.
