Winning awards has become something of a habit for David Charman and his Parkfoot Garage in West Malling, Kent.
The site won the first Forecourt Trader of the Year award in 1996, and after an extension and refit in early 2013, it won this category in the 2013 awards. In March last year David was crowned Convenience Retailer of the Year in the Convenience Retail Awards before taking this title for the second year running.
David says: "After winning the Forecourt Trader Award in 2013 we haven’t rested on our laurels. We’ve looked at the successful parts of the business and tweaked them, and the less successful parts and changed them.
"In the past year we have become more skillful in the way we run the business and keeping it looking good more consistently.
"After a 60% increase in turnover in 2013 we went on to achieve another 25% increase in 2014."
