The new chargers can deliver electricity at up to 300kW

Four new ultra-rapid 300kW EV chargers have been added to Glews Services off the M62 near Goole, 35 miles to the east of Leeds.

BP Pulse says the new units are “designed to not only support local journeys but also travel across Northern England and beyond”, and form part of the oil major’s “broader strategic rollout of ultra-fast EV charging across the UK”.

The sockets are situated in the car park shared by KFC and Starbucks at the services, which is also home to a Shell forecourt and convenience store run by Top 50 Indie JRS Services. While not an official MSA, Glews Services is visible enough from the M62 to effectively be used as one.

Valerio Ferro, BP Pulse’s general manager, commented: “By adding ultra-fast chargers at existing service areas such as Glews Services, our goal is to make electric vehicle charging as accessible and convenient as possible, especially along key strategic roads across the UK.”
