New offer brings with it comprehensive benefits for stores commiting to its Ts&Cs

The Nisa symbol group has undergone a “complete reset” after owners Co-op Wholesale announced an end to membership and delivery fees – though retailers must commit to sourcing 75% of their stock from the wholesaler.

The “landmark” proposition will be the standard contract offered to all new symbol retailers. The revamp also brings with it a refreshed Nisa fascia, with a muted and on-trend blue/grey colour theme, together with improved commercial terms that can bring a rebate of up to 6%.

Retailers, including forecourt operators, opting for the deal gain access to 2,400 Co-op branded products, while the wholesaler is also offering new digital-media screen tech, updated point-of-sale, and a refresh for the Making a Difference Locally charity, which spans both Nisa and Co-op Wholesale.

Independent retailers seeking to sign up to the Nisa symbol group must meet eligibility criteria, which brings with it the 75% sourcing requirement, and minimum weekly order amounts.

Katie Secretan, Co-op Wholesale’s managing director, described the changes as amounting to “a landmark moment for Nisa and our independent partners”, and said the offer comprises “a fully modernised symbol group proposition that removes friction, takes away unnecessary charges and gives retailers more of what they need to thrive”.

The first outlet to adopt the new package is the Nisa Dallam convenience store in Warrington, Cheshire, whose owner, Mike Sohal, says the new offer is “not just about the fascia, it’s about doing business as simply as we can, and that’s the key benefit of what Co-op Wholesale has done for its independent retailers”.
