A site in Preston, Lancashire, that previously traded as a Mitsubishi car dealership until the business relocated in April this year could return to its former life as a filling station following a planning application by James Hall & Co.
Prior to its life as a car dealership the site traded as a petrol station, though this facility was demolished towards the end of the 1990s when the showroom was constructed.
Now, James Hall & Co is seeking permission to redevelop the Browns Mitsubishi site on Preston Road in Grimsargh, roughly six miles from the centre of Preston, back into a filling station.

The firm wants to erect a new 3,000sq ft Spar convenience store on the site, alongside a two-pump-island forecourt and parking for 22 cars.
EV charging will also feature if the plans get the go-ahead from Preston City Council, though only one bay will be installed.
James Hall & Co employs 4,000 people and is the primary northern wholesaler to Spar, operating 165 convenience stores and 47 forecourts in the region. The firm was recently granted permission to construct a new petrol station in small village in the Lake District.
The Grimsargh project would create 10 full-time and 20 part-time jobs, while its planning agents say it would transform a site that “does not currently contribute any visual interest or add positively to the area”.
