New hub features eight bays and charging speeds of up to 400kW

Dutch chargepoint operator Fastned has unveiled a new eight-bay charging station in Liverpool, which marks its 40th hub in the UK.

The milestone means the firm is nearing the halfway point for its UK expansion plans of operating 91 hubs with its distinctive ‘solar trees’ canopies. Gobally it has 434 hubs, with plans for a further 723.

The new Liverpool facility sits on Tower Street, close to the city’s Brunswick Business Park, and comprises eight ultra-rapid charging bays served by four chargers, each capable of delivering electricity at speeds of up to 400kW.

Tom Hurst, UK country director for Fastned, says the new Liverpool site “marks a significant and exciting milestone”.

Fastned recently reported improved financial results for the first half of 2026, with revenue up 40% – though the company still made a net loss of £11.1m, with its UK operations performing poorly compared to other European markets.
