A planning application has been submitted by MFG seeking permission to extend the shop at a forecourt in Norwich, with the proposed build set to almost triple the amount of retail space on offer.
The kiosk at the Morrisons site presently occupies 775sq ft, with just 624sq ft given over to customer space. If Norwich City Council green lights the firm’s plans, the shop’s overall footprint will increase to 1,851sq ft, of which 1,593sq ft would be dedicated to retail space.
That extra space is set to be given over to a Pret concession, but in order to free it up MFG will have to move the site’s offset fills and vent pipes, placing these in space currently occupied by a jetwash bay, which will not be replaced – though an automatic car wash will remain in situ.
Parking at the forecourt will also be formalised if the works go ahead, with seven new marked customer bays being installed.
