While the number plate attached to the car is assigned to a silver Freelander, the registration has not led to the suspects being identified

North Yorkshire Police has issued an appeal for information following the theft of fuel and goods from a petrol station in York.

Officers are hunting for a man and a woman they believe “will have information that can help” with the force’s investigation, which was triggered after a man filled a Land Rover Freelander with £81 worth of fuel before the vehicle was driven off without payment being made.

Echoing trends Forecourt Trader reported on earlier in the year, officers say that enquiries made with the DVLA have not resulted in any suspects being identified.

Police also say food and drinks were taken from the forecourt shop without being paid for and have released CCTV images of a woman they would like to speak to in connection with this.
