Retail parks are seen as an increasingly attractive asset class both for investors and charging firms

Chargepoint operator Raw Charging has announced the opening of a new 17-bay EV hub at a shopping centre in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.

The facility comprises six ‘fast’ AC bays (7-22kW) and 11 DC ultra-rapid (150kW+) spots, and has been installed at Leamington Spa Shopping Park, which is part owned by investment firm Aberdeen.

Raw has previously partnered with property and investment firm Landsec in a £24.5m deal to roll out chargers at retail parks and shopping centres owned by that firm. The new Leamington Spa hub cements the firm is focussing on such ‘destination’ charging hubs, unlike other operators that concentrate on standalone facilities.

Jason Simpson, Raw Charging’s chief executive comments: “We’re proud to bring our ultra-rapid charging experience to Leamington Spa Shopping Park. This hub delivers the speed, reliability and convenience drivers expect at one of the region’s most popular destinations. By partnering with leading property owners such as Aberdeen, we’re making sustainable journeys simpler and helping accelerate the UK’s transition to zero‑emission travel.”
