As part of its Partnering for Success initiative, Imperial Tobacco has released a video offering guidance to the trade around the EUTPD II and standardised packaging legislation. Retailers are able to view the video on its trade site, and via its retailer reward programme website.

The video explains to the how the impending legislation is likely to affect the tobacco category – from the key differences between current and standardised packs to significant dates. It also addresses issues around potential retailer and customer confusion, as well as illustrating the many ways in which Imperial continues to support the trade’s planning and preparation for transition from current packs to standardised packs.

Sophie Hogg, head of sales and marketing, Imperial Tobacco UK&I, commented: “Partnering for Success was created to help guide the trade through potential upcoming changes in the tobacco category. We believe our video offers a great way to provide further clarity around the legislation, the ways it might impact both retailers and adult smokers – and what Imperial is doing to provide reassurance and support to the trade.

“Imperial sales representatives will be sharing it with retailers during their visits, but we’d also advise that retailers share it among their staff to help support training and information for all.

“In the meantime, if any retailers haven’t yet either received or downloaded their Partnering for Success START packs – which have recently been updated with a standardised packaging case study in Australia plus our latest Anti-Illicit Trade successes – they can do so from both our trade websites.
