The first Shell Recharge points destined for a Waitrose supermarket have gone live at the Waitrose store in Cirencester.

Installed in the car park, the site now features six 22kW and two 50kW chargers, enabling customers to charge up while they shop. Shell plans to install up to 800 Shell EV charging posts in as many as 100 Waitrose shops, across the UK.

These new charging points will help the company meet its ambition to grow the Shell Recharge-branded network to 5,000 EV charge points on forecourts and in other locations by 2025. Shell Recharge will be available at Waitrose stores in other areas in the next few months.

The company has 119 Shell Recharge electric vehicle charging points on UK forecourts, including 65 rapid chargers, 54 ultra-rapid chargers, with 50 across London, with nine 175kw posts on Shell’s recently-opened EV-only forecourt in Fulham.
