Trowbridge lodge Services

Top 50 Indie Gardner Garages is trialling the Morrisons Daily format at its newly reopened Trowbridge Lodge Services at Trowbridge in Wiltshire.

The BP-branded service station, which it acquired in February this year, previously had a 1,200sq ft Spar store, but at the time of the acquisition company chairman Clive Gardner said there were plans to upgrade the site and they would be trialling a new shop format.

The site has been closed while the store was refurbished with the new Morrisons Daily livery and new food-to-go offerings and Costa Coffee.

Outside the forecourt was resurfaced and a new car wash and jet wash has been installed at a cost of more than £100,000.

Shortly after the acquisition a new five-year supply deal was signed with BP.

Clive said there were plans to build hundreds of new homes nearby so he was expecting this would give a substantial boost to the business.

Gardner Garages was a new entry in the latest Forecourt Trader Top 50 Indies, which was published in March. It was ranked number 40 with seven sites.
