The two companies completed a succesful trial last year

EG On The Move is opening a new-to-sector forecourt with a Co-op convenience store this week, the second such pairing following a successful trial the two firms ran last year.

The forecourt is in the village of Wyberton, Lincolnshire, on the outskirts of a new housing development of 500 homes, and is due to open this Thursday (September 18).

Operating 24 hours and featuring six pump islands, the filling station also has two HGV lanes, plus air and vacuum facilities.

The Co-op shop offers a self-service Starbucks concession, hot food to go, Rollover hot dogs and Delice de France La Bakery goods, while the shop as a whole is said to have a focus on fresh, chilled and healthy produce.

EG On The Move’s chief executive, Zuber Issa, comments: “We are delighted to collaborate with Co-op on our latest site”, adding that EGOTM is “committed to quality and innovation and as a trusted retailer we look forward to continuing to grow our relationship with Co-op to enhance the convenience store offer”.

Co-op’s director of partnership development, Martin Rogers emphasises that his firm is “focused on scaling our franchise business”, and that Co-op looks forward to “identifying more locations for joint growth with EG On The Move”.
