Penny Petroleum has been granted permission to rejuvenate a Dunfermline forecourt, described by the firm as being “in poor condition”.
Gavrock Filling Station was visited by Fife Council, whose planners remarked the site had “deteriorated over the years with rusting to the forecourt canopy and broken machinery”. Penny’s plans look set to turn the forecourt’s fortunes around.
The company, known for transforming rundown sites into gems, is poised to rip out the old canopy, replacing it with a new galvanised steel roof. Also set for replacement are the existing fuel tanks, with Penny installing one 60,000-litre unit with two compartments (one for unleaded and one for super), and another 70,000-litre tank with three, for standard, super and red diesel.
Fresh pumps are also coming, with three new islands to be arranged to be in “starter gate” formation perpendicular to the forecourt shop.
The rollover car wash will also be recommissioned, though the forecourt shop is to be left untouched by the upgrade, having been recently kitted out with a new automatic sliding door, while Penny’s Food on the Move F2G offering is already operating from the site.
