01 Career history: I have been in the petrol industry since I was 18. I worked as a cashier and was promoted to an assistant manager for Gulf. I was then made redundant when Gulf pulled out of the UK in the late 1990s. Straight after my redundancy, I was offered an assistant manager’s position with Sharma Garages running a Total site. Sharma Garages then acquired some BP sites and soon after I was promoted to site manager and then area manager. The drive and passion I had that led me to get my foot in the door as an assistant manager at the age of 20, developed into becoming a fundamental part of Sharma Garages’ success, as I now have been promoted to the role of business operations manager.
02 Dream job (if you weren’t doing this): Director of my own company.
03 What do you drive: Land Rover. It’s a 4x4 and I love it.
04 What would you like to drive: Definitely a Ferrari or a Porsche.
05 Perfect day: A barbecue at home with my lovely wife and kids.
06 Favourite team: Liverpool – I blame my elder brother.
07 Favourite read: The Noble Quran and anything by my favourite author, Dean Ray Koontz.

20 Thoughts on the forecourt sector: Although the government is pushing towards EV to reach the Net Zero targets,I think that fuel is still going to be around for a few years yet. Hydrogen is the best solution in my opinion – but only time will tell.
